¡¡The appointment ceremony of oversea high-level talent was held in Daping Hospital on 23rd April 2012. Tan Jun, the professor of Psychiatry Department and Alzheimer¡¯s disease Centre at University of South Florida, was appointed as the honorary president and academic consultant of the Cerebrovascular Disease Hospital and Department of Neurology. President of Daping Hospital Zhou Lin, Political Commissar Zeng Wei, Dean of Science, Education and Medical care Department Cheng Xiaobin, vice director of Political Department Liu Dong, director of Science Research Division Li Yong, Dean of Neurology Department Zhou Huadong and his main staff attended the ceremony, which was presided over by Mr. Zhou Lin.

¡¡¡¡In the ceremony, Mr. Cheng Xiaobin gave an brief introduction of Professor Tan Jun. Mr. Zhou Lin and Mr. Zeng Wei awarded the letter of appointment to Professor Tan, and they signed the agreement. Mr. Zeng Wei brought up three opinions on behalf of the Party committee. Firstly, he requested the hospital to highly value the task of attracting oversea high-level talents. Secondly, he suggested we should spare no efforts to provide a good platform to the overseas. At last, he demanded we should provide Professor Tan with good service and support.

¡¡¡¡Professor Tan Jun received MS at Fudan University in 1989 and PhD in 1992, as well as postdoctoral studies at the University of Michigan in 1998. He became Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Uiversity of South Florida (USF) and Associate Professor in 2004 and Professor in 2007. His research interest is on the Alzheimer¡¯s disease. He is the author of 110 original scientific papers in prestigious journals such as Science, Nature Neuroscience, Nature Medicine, Nature Commutations, EMBO J and PNAS. He is the recipient of multiple grants from the NIH totaling $10 M. In 2007, he was named the Robert A. SilverEndowed Chair in Developmental Neurobiology.

¡¡¡¡According to the consensus achieved by both sides, Professor Tan will give academic instructions and supports regarding personnel training, grant application, paper publication, achievement application, academic ideas exchanging at regular intervals, which will consequently improve the research of the prevention and treatment for Alzheimer¡¯s disease and the academic standing of the Cerebrovascular Disease Hospital. The successful recruitment of Professor Tan Jun is the first step Daping Hospital takes to attract the oversea high-level talents, and this will profoundly influence talents recruitment in the future.
